McKenzie Ranger District
There are 3 ways to acces this trail:
Access #1 - Drive west on Hwy 126 from the McKenzie Ranger Station to
McKenzie Bridge, turn left on Horse Creek Rd. Drive 2 miles, turn right
unto Wapiti Rd. (USFS Rd. #1993). Continue 3 miles to the trailhead.
Access #2 - From Horsepasture Saddle (elevation 4,800 feet). This point
is 7 miles further on Wapiti Rd. Loook for a hiker symbol.
Access #3 - Drive west 7 miles from the Ranger Station to USFS Rd. #19
(Aufderheide National Scenic Byway). Turn left and continue to Coygar Dam,
cross it and take USFS Rd. #1993. Travel 15 miles to Pack Saddle, where
the trail crosses the road.
