South Fork Trail #3327

Blue River Ranger District

Take Hwy. 126 3.5 miles east from Blue River to USFS Rd. #19 (Aufderheide National Scenic Byway). Turn right and continue for 21.5 miles to USFS Rd. #19-441. Drive 0.5 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road.

Hike up the Olallie Trail #3529, for 1 mile. The South Fork Trail leaves Olallie Trail to the right. From a beginning elevation of 2,720 feet, this trail climbs gradually to 2,800 feet to end at the Elk Creek trailhead on USFS Rd. #1964-456.

The route travels through second growth Douglas-fir with the sound of the rushing South Fork of the McKenzie in the background. This is a gentle grade, suitable for a leisurely day hike.
