French Pete Trail #3311

Blue River Ranger District

From Blue River take Hwy. 126 and drive east 3.5 miles, turning right unto USFS Rd. #19 (Aufderheide National Scenic Byway). Contiunue for 11 miles to arrive at the French Pete Trailhead parking lot, located on your left.

This trail begins at an elevation of 1,840 feet and ends at the Pat Saddle trailhead on USFS Rd. #1993, elevation 4,400 feet.

The trail bridges at miles 2 and 3 have been removed because of safety reasons due to their deteriorated condition. It may be necessary to ford the creek to continue to the Pat Saddle Trailhead. The trail follows the creek through second growth and old growth forests. The trail is accessible most of the year. Horses are not recommended for this trail, except on the upper 4 miles.
