Blue River Ranger District
Travel east 3.5 miles along Hwy. 126 to USFS Rd. #19 (Aufderheide National
Scenic Byway) and turn right. Continue 3 miles to the top of Cougar Dam.
At the dam turn left unto USFS Rd. #1993 and travel 3 more miles to the
far eastern end of the Echo Boat Ramp parking lot. The trailhead is at
the end of the parking lot.
This trail begins at an elevation of 1,700 feet and terminates at 3,440
feet at USFS Rd. #1993.
Traveling along the East Fork of the McKenzie River, this 5.9 mile long
trail winds its way through dense stands of Douglas-fir.
