Blue River Ranger District

From Blue River travel east on Hwy. 126 for 3.5 miles, turn right on USFS Rd. #19 (Aufderheide National Scenic Byway) for 0.5 miles. At the stop sign go straight onto USFS Rd. #19-410 for 1.75 miles, then turn left onto USFS Rd. #19-411 for 2.25 miles. The trailhead is on the left and hard to find.

This trail begins at 2,400 feet and terminates at 2,560 feet at USFS Rd. #2639-480.

The Lower Castle Rock Trail goes through a heavy forest of second growth Douglas-fir, on a gentle upward climb.
