Buck Mountain Trail #3304

Blue River Ranger District

From Blue River proceed east on Hwy. 126 for 2.5 miles, turn left on USFS Rd. #15 and go 5 miles. Turn onto USFS Rd. # 1509 for 0.5 miles, then turn left unto USFS Rd. #1510 , go 3.5 miles to the trailhead (located on the right).

This is a good day hike. The trail leads to the top of Buck Mountain, which overlooks the Blue River and Tidbits Creek drainages. The trail is part of an old gold mine road and has been incorporated into a loop leading back to USFS Rd. #1510, about a mile from the first trailhead. The mountaintop was previously the site of a lookout.
