Blue River Ranger District
From Blue River proceed east on Hwy. 126 for 3.5 miles, turn right on
USFS Rd. #19 and go 3 miles. At Cougar Dam turn left unto USFS Rd. #1993
for 14 miles, then right to Pat Saddle Trailhead. Park and follow Olallie
Trail 4 miles.
The trail begins at 4,720 feet and ends at 3,680 feet. on the French
Pete Trail #3311, 1.5 miles west of the Pat Saddle Trailhead. The grade
is moderate and can be traveled in a one day loop or a two day hike. Just
after leaving the Olallie Trail hikers will pass through open grassy meadows.
The trail is obscure so be alert and watch carefully for old blazes and
use a compass.
