Sahalie Waterfalls

Sahalie Falls is the crown jewel of the McKenzie River. Sahalie means above, heaven, sky, celestial, top, or uppermost in Chinook jargon. These falls are certainly up to that description, plunging 78 feet over a moss covered precipice. Even in the heat of a Northwest summer, this is a cool, refreshing place to visit.

A convenient pullout area capable of handling tour buses is located on the north side of Highway 126 at milepost 70.9. A US Forest Service walking trail offers access to viewing areas both above and below the falls. Be sure to bring your camera along. Open all year round, the trails can be slippery during the winter when cold temperatures turn mist from the falls into ice on the pathways.
