Goodpasture Covered Bridge

Constructed in 1938, the Goodpasture covered bridge measures 165 feet long, making it the second longest in Lane County. Located at milepost 26.2, this bridge was extensively reconstructed in 1986 and received new ceramic roof tiles in 1992.

The bridge was named for Benjamin Franklin Goodpasture. It was constructed to replace the Thomson Ferry, also located at this site.

Highly visible next to the McKenzie Highway in Vida, the Goodpasture bridge is considered to be one of the most photographed objects in Lane County. If you'd like to take a photo yourself, the best parking spot is a graveled pullout located just east of the bridge on the south side of the roadway.
