Belknap Covered Bridge

Turn right from Highway 126 onto McKenzie River Drive at milepost 47.1. Follow McKenzie River Drive another 0.8 miles to King Road West.

Constructed in 1966, this structure replaced an older bridge which was floated off its moorings and taken 1/4 mile downstream in the 1964 flood. The bridge was completely restored again in 1992 during a six month renovation. Work crews removed both the roof and floor of the bridge, as well as siding. People revisiting the site since this activity may think something looks different. They're right - six new window openings per side have been added to the bridge to improve ventilation and lessen the impacts of deterioration from moisture.

By crossing the covered bridge and turning right, you can access the Castle Rock Trails.
